Customer's Challenge:
Identify the source of fabric color fading that occurred during the manufacturing stages of upholstered furniture.
CALI's Solution
CALI identified the source of the problem as an incompatible solvent used in the formulation of an adhesive applied during the manufacturing process.
Customer's Challenge:
Deformulate a product used as an engine sealant for the purpose of providing evidence in a litigation involving patent infringement.
CALI's Solution
CALI identified a specific ingredient proprietary to the client and essential to his product's performance. Our data proved that a product competing with our client's own proprietary formula contained that same ingredient and therefore constituted a patent infringement.
Customer's Challenge:
Results of elemental microanalysis of a particular compound did not agree with the theoretical formula. The client could not explain the deviation. (the sample contained both Cl and I).
CALI's Solution
CALI proposed to analyze for an element that was not requested originally. By determining the percent concentration of that element the client was able to explain the deviation.
Customer's Challenge:
CALI was asked to perform an independent audit of a client’s manufacturing facility including its SOPs.
CALI's Solution
CALI made a number of useful suggestions that enabled the client to improve operations and pass a regulatory agency’s inspection.
Customer's Challenge:
Develop an HPLC method that can detect an active ingredient in a pharmaceutical tablet with at least two more active ingredients present at concentrations high enough to prevent the standard analysis of the target compound.
CALI's Solution
CALI developed a stepwise method that involved separation of the ingredients by a combination of extractions, filtration, solvent exchange and evaporation. The result was an improved method for identifying all of the ingredients in the tablet.
